Sol Cubano Connecticut Toro (6×50)

A terrific, light-bodied smoke that provides plenty of flavor without being overpowering–a difficult feat for most gars. With a beautiful Connecticut shade wrapper, this gar is sweet with notes of almond and cedar. It is simlar in taste and appearance to a Gurkha Robusto (6 x 50) and has excellent draw and good burn. At $3.50 a gar at cigar.com, it is an excellent value gar. My only complaint is that it burns a little fast and hot toward the end.

Update: The last three I’ve had of these have been very bitter toward the end. Still a great value gar, but ultimately distinguishable from premium gars. I would drop the gar one point on the rating scale were I to review it again today.
These aren’t that good
The S.C.Connecticut isha nice looking cigar. The price is very attractive for such a good looking stick. The density is the first thing I noticed that could separate it from more costly premium selections, it is a little spongy to the squeeze. Pre-light aromas are mild and sweet. After the initial start-up I noticed this cigar is very light with sweet woodiness, but no earthiness or spice. I’m thinking a nice stick to hand to the guys who only smoke the rare stogie, but bland to my favored flavors in a cigar. The cigar isn’t a slow burner yet doesn’t reduce to ashes ridiculouly fast. Lots of smoke and easy to keep lit the S.C.burned true and needed nary a correction. It had a beautiful light grey ash that held far better than the density I noticed would suggest. The taste remained throughout until it started to be nubbish at which time it was noticably hot and began to exhibit a harshness that it certainly had not displayed before. The cigar doesn’t offend and it is moere what it lacks in flavor that many, like me, will bemoan. Smooth, bland, and, until the last couple of inches a smokable inexpensive cigar. Lackluster is my final verdict…spend about the same and try the Nica Libre if you want a more robust blend than this.
