During a recent trip abroad, I had the chance to purchase a three-pack of Cohiba Robustos for the lofty price of $75. The packaging (see photo) was spectacular. All three cigars came in their own little box which was placed in a larger hologram ladened box. These were clearly the real deal.
While extremely pricey, even for a Cuban, I found these to be exceptional cigars. Even among other Cubans. The construction was flawless. Draw was perfect. The flavor had the great “Cuban Spice” you just can’t find in any other cigar. It’s a powerhouse (Medium-Full bodied) that gets better and better as it warms up.
Sadly, I’ve smoked all three now and I’m looking forward to my next international adventure where I will surely pick up another set of these gems.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Declaring an end to “smoke-filled rooms” in the Capitol, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday said smoking would be banned from an ornate meeting area just off the floor of the House of Representatives.
The Speaker’s Lobby was one of the few remaining places in the Capitol where smoking was permitted. The move will force lawmakers, including chain-smoking House Republican Leader John Boehner of Ohio, to find other places to sneak a cigarette.
Often during House votes, the Speaker’s Lobby would be thick with cigar and cigarette smoke, as lawmakers swapped stories with each other and held impromptu interviews with reporters. The “smoked-filled room” has long held a place in Washington political lore referring to earlier times when men smoking heavily would meet in private rooms to work out the government’s business.

An average gar with a new band to make it look like a Davidoff. Average draw, burn and taste. A good value smoke for sure, but not nearly as good as the Oliva or the CAO Gold. Kind of like La Fontana the City. Keep trying, 909ers. As for this smoke, if it’s part of a special (as it was last week on cigar.com) I’d say it’s neutral: nothing to seek out, but nothing to avoid.

This is one strong cigar. I almost couldn’t finish it, despite it’s small size, on account of its overpowering flavor. More sophisticated than the 1964 line; I’m quite not sure its better yet, though. Peppery and musky in taste, with hints of mint and floral notes. Amazing depth. Perfect burn. An amazing smoke. Glad I didn’t order the larger size, as I’m not sure I could handle it. Right now, I’d give it an 8.5. But I reserve the right to come back and rate it higher (or lower, I suppose) after I’ve had one or two more (bought a box with my bonus).
